Ms. Walters returns for a fourth year as principal at Thornton High School.

Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members:

As you receive this newsletter, we are two weeks into second semester. February is always a busy month as second semester starts and we start planning for the 2008-2009 school year.

In mid-February, students will register for 2008-2009 classes. Incoming 9 th grades from Thornton Middle School, Northglenn Middle, Crossroads and Shadow Ridge Middle will receive registration information on February 4 through February 5. We will hold our Parent Night on February 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Royal Gorge with registration collected February 12 and 14.

The Class of 2011 will receive information during CSAP testing. The Class of 2010 will receive information on February 19 in their Science class and will go to the computer lab to enter their requests on February 22. The Class of 2009 will receive information on February 26 in their Econ/Govt class and will go to the computer lab to enter their requests on February 29.

Please take some time to review the classes your student selects for 2008-2009. Our master schedule is built on student request and we expect students to carefully make their selections.

School will not be in session on February 8 (District In-Service) and on February 18 (Presidents’ Day).

On behalf of the faculty and staff of THS, we would like to thank each of you for your continued support of our school mission of “Total commitment to High achievement and Success for All.” Please feel free to call if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Janette K. Walters
